Characters
Some Axarcomedy characters have made frequent visits to our stage. So, to introduce you to some of the people you might meet at one of our shows, this is their page.
Tracy & Jackie

Pole-dancing Essex slapper, Tracy, enjoys frequent conversations with brain-dead Essex slapper, Jackie, usually about their sexual conquests.
Appeared in shows 2, 4, 5, 6, 9, 11 and 12. Performed by Nina Downes (Tracy) and Alexia Whybrow (Jackie).
Steven Hawking

Bitter and foul-mouthed, Steven Hawking hates being a scientist and wants a more exciting profession. It's just a pity he's so crap at everything he tries.
Appeared in shows 6, 7, 9, 10, 12 and 13. Currently performed by Helen Witcombe (in photo is Phil Lewis).
José Maria, Jazz Poet

Mentally unhinged or fragile, drug-addled genius? No-one can tell. His poems, backed by ultra-modern jazz, are in turn mesmerising and mind-blowingly awful. If you laugh you won't know why.
Appeared in shows 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13. Performed by Dave Bowman.
Barbara Cardigan

Barbara is cursed with the unlikely combination of being appallingly dowdy and constantly horny. No man, woman, animal or inanimate object is safe when she's around.
Appeared in shows 7, 9, 10, 11, 12 and 13. Performed by Nina Downes.
Fred & Rosemary West

Fun-loving Fred likes nothing more than a nice spot of murder, supported fully by his lovely wife, Rosemary. The kids are less excited about dad's hobby but that's not something that'll bother them for long.
Appeared in shows 9, 10 and 11. Performed by Steven Smith (Fred) and Nina Downes (Rosemary).
Tristan Storyteller & His "Son", Dominic

Tristan likes to tell tall tales on his television show, "Fairy Tales For Children", accompanied by his rebellious, 6-year-old pretend son, Dominic. Unfortunately, each story he tackles usually ends up completely unsuitable for his young viewers.
Appeared in shows 9, 10 and 11. Performed by Steven Smith (Tristan) and Dave Bowman (Dominic).
Alan & Deirdre

Despite adoring his manky wife, Deidre, and being physically repellent himself, Alan is constantly fighting off the chicks. So far, Kylie Minogue, Christina Aguilera, Claudia Schiffer and Charlotte Church have all tried to get into his greying Y-fronts without success.
Appeared in shows 4, 5, 6, 12 and 13. Performed by Steven Smith (Alan) and Carola Douglass (Deirdre).
The Marias

Those loveable Marias from Frigiliana like nothing more than a good bitching session with their amigas.
Appeared in shows 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Performed by the men.
Wayne Fakker

Wayne's a Cockney loud-mouthed geezer who's out for all he can get.
Appeared in shows 2 and 4. Performed by Dave Bowman.
Pete & Jean

TV personality-obsessed Pete & Jean are always spotting celebrities, usually where none exists. Probably because they don't have a telly.
Appeared in shows 1 and 2. Performed by Steven Smith (Pete) and Alexia Whybrow (Jean).
